Overview
Fienly is a personal-finance app that lets you log expenses by voice and AI. We take your privacy seriously and only collect what is needed for the app to work. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier, your email address, and (on the first sign-in only) your name.
Transaction data. Everything you log inside Fienly — amounts, categories, notes, tags, budgets, dates — is stored on our servers so it syncs to your devices.
Voice input. When you use the microphone, your speech is converted to text by Apple's speech recognition. The resulting transcript is sent to our servers and to OpenAI for categorization. We do not record or store raw audio.
Receipt photos. If you attach a photo to a transaction, the image is uploaded to our storage and accessible only to you.
Diagnostics. We may collect anonymized crash reports and basic app version info to fix bugs.
How we use your data

- Process voice input into structured transactions
- Authenticate you on future sign-ins
- Improve reliability via crash reports
Who has access
Apple receives your speech for transcription (governed by Apple's own privacy policy).
OpenAI receives short text snippets of your transactions for AI categorization. No personally identifying information is sent.
Cloudflare hosts our infrastructure (database, storage, edge compute). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Your rights
You can:
- View all your data inside the app
- Export everything as CSV (Settings → Export transactions)
- Delete individual transactions, categories, tags, budgets
- Delete your entire account permanently (Settings → Delete account). This wipes all your data from our servers, including receipt photos.
Data retention
Your data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all data is removed immediately and cannot be recovered.
Children's privacy
Fienly is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.
